Back from cheating! And on a new fasting experimen Back from cheating! And on a new fasting experimentation. Been doing alternate day fasts (42 hours minimum). Might switch to 36 hours depending on my schedule.

Also looking into and researching on gaining metabolic flexibility. So definitely will be experimenting on myself more.

Quick update on my progress! Slowly but surely ge Quick update on my progress!

Slowly but surely getting there! Been diligent with tracking (on cronometer and keto mojo). Overall feeling good about the progress I have made.

Been sprinkling some PSMF (protein sparing modified fast --- high protein, low fat, low carb) days when I have time to cook for myself (which is more frequent with the whole WFH ordeal). So far the experience have been great. I am not hungry on my PSMF days. And I am enjoying my normal keto days much more. 

Some things to note:
1. I do not get kicked out of ketosis. In fact I get deeper into ketosis.
2. Protein are super satiating. 
3. Lean meat (e.g. chicken breast) does not have to taste awful!

Haven't been having my monthly planned cheat day since June. Though I did accidentally get out of ketosis due to Chinese take out for a birthday celebration. Chinese food contains way too much hidden sugars. I was only aiming for the obvious proteins (meat, fish, etc) and still got kicked out. That's just sad. Shall avoid Chinese cuisine as much as possible. Will continue to test my ketone levels whenever I eat out to see which types of food am I more sensitive to as well.

Also just a side note: I have 3 consecutive cheat days planned in August. 😁 Not sure if I should post anything non-keto on this account. 😂

Hello people! How's everyone doing? I haven't been Hello people! How's everyone doing? I haven't been posting much but I have been cooking a ton. Finally nailed the Japanese Fluffeh Cheese cake I've been meaning to perfect for the past year. Will try one with even better macros soon! 😁

I've been diligent with my diet and I am hoping to get to a healthy weight (unfortunately even after losing so much I am still over weight) before the end of this year. I am actually aiming for Aug, but I don't want to push myself into taking things to the extreme which I am prone to. So I am just taking things slow.

Slow and steady wins the race people! Stay calm and keto on! 😁

Finally got my keto-mojo. Pricking myself is not as scary as I thought. Also not as painful.

Been moving around more. Walked a lot recently. Helped my friend install floorings which busted my thighs (imagine doing around 4 hours worth of squats 😂).

Haven't been weighing myself. Really hoping my numbers will be nice by the end of the month.

Some weight fluctuations today.  Likely due to hidden carbs from dinner last night (unfortunately take out Chinese food contains lots of carbs, but I don't waste food. Oh well).

Went cycling today with the Mrs and the super happy son. Unfortunately for the daughter her other mother (me) don't cycle well and can't have her as a "pillion". 😂😂

Day 1. Happy to report I have officially lost mos Day 1.

Happy to report I have officially lost most of my water weight (my body is a sponge!).

Let's see how much "real weight" I can lose from now on. Still trying to set a figure to aim for. My goal weight just keeps moving. It was 78, back when I was > 80, then 73, then 68, then 63.  Maintained at 63 then gained some. So my aim changed to 63 again, then 58. Lowest I ever aimed for was 53.  Perhaps for now let's aim for 58kg. 

That's around 7kg away. Should be doable..? 

Anyways, the weighing scale is not the best matric to use. But I don't always have a big ass InBody machine I can use to check my body fat.

Also, an update on the game plan:

Likely gonna do OMAD / 20:4 instead of extended fasts just cos it fits my schedule better at this moment. 

Been tracking my macros to the T. I am just aiming to have as little carbs as possible, and not restricting my protein.

Hello everyone! Jacquelyn here for a little chat Hello everyone!  Jacquelyn here for a little chat and update.  For those who don't know me: Hello!

A little background about myself.  I have been on keto since 2017 and have lost quite a significant amount of weight (~20kg) within the first 2 years of my keto journey.  I have been maintaining my weight of ~63kg since 2019... Up till recently. 

Unfortunately work have been stressful and my coping strategies failed on me with the sudden change of working environment (the whole phase 2 all over again). For those who do not know, I am a full time software engineer and Keto by Jacq is a passion project that just happened to happen (still super thankful about that).

Anyways, I just thought it would be beneficial for me, and for those who are on the same journey as I am, to document my progress.  Hopefully I will be able to motivate someone.  I am not a huge social media person but I will attempt to keep the updates coming. 

Game plan:
- extended fast at least once a week (> 36 hours)
- alternate day workouts. if unable to workout, stretch. No excuses for skipping
- mainly whole foods

Day 0.

Weight: 68.9kg
Body Fat: 35.7% (note: this is not accurate, but a good rough ballpark indicator nonetheless)
